Policies & Terms

These policies apply to all face painting and airbrushing services provided by Kiwi Ink Creations. They exist to keep every guest safe and to make sure you know exactly what to expect on event day.

Client Guarantees

  1. Professional Products Guarantee. I use professional cosmetic and body-art products intended for use on skin. Craft paints, acrylic paints, and other non-cosmetic paints are never used for face or body painting.
  2. Clean Kit Guarantee. Brushes, sponges, airbrush equipment, work surfaces, and other reusable tools are cleaned and maintained using appropriate hygiene practices.
  3. Fresh Sponge Guarantee. A clean sponge is used for each guest. Used sponges are not dipped back into the kit during the event.
  4. Professional Conduct Guarantee. I will arrive prepared, appropriately dressed for the event, and provide courteous, professional service to guests.
  5. Age-Appropriate Artwork Guarantee. Designs can be adapted for children, teens, or adults, and for the theme and atmosphere of the event.
  6. Event Customization Guarantee. When a custom theme has been agreed upon in advance, I will prepare an appropriate selection of designs for that event.
  7. Honest Product Information. I will never claim a product is waterproof, hypoallergenic, FDA-approved, or suitable for a particular condition unless the product manufacturer actually supports that claim.
  8. Guest Comfort Guarantee. A guest may stop the painting process at any time. No one will be pressured into being painted.

Booking & Payment

Booking confirmation

An inquiry does not reserve a date. Your event is officially booked only after the required booking information, a signed agreement if applicable, and the deposit/retainer have been received.

Retainer

I require a non-refundable booking retainer of 25–50% of the total price. The remaining balance is due before or on the event date according to the invoice.

Overtime

Additional time is subject to artist availability and is billed in predetermined increments. Overtime is not guaranteed simply because additional guests are waiting.

Cancellation & Rescheduling

Client cancellation

Booking retainers are non-refundable, because the event date has been reserved and other work may have been declined.

Rescheduling

One reschedule can be permitted when sufficient notice is provided, subject to my availability. The retainer can transfer to the new date within a defined period, such as 6 months.

Artist cancellation

If I must cancel and cannot provide the contracted service, the client receives a refund of money paid to me for the unperformed service. I can recommend a substitute artist, but that is a recommendation and not a guarantee.

Severe weather

Outdoor services may be delayed, relocated, rescheduled, or stopped when weather creates unsafe working conditions.

Outdoor Event Policies

  • The client or event organizer must provide an appropriate working area protected from direct sun, rain, and excessive wind.
  • I require approximately a 10′ × 10′ covered area for larger setups, and adequate space for my table, chairs, equipment, guest line, and supplies.
  • For airbrushing, I require access to electricity when particular equipment requires it. I will specify this during booking.
  • I reserve the right to temporarily stop or completely discontinue services during lightning, heavy rain, dangerous winds, extreme heat, equipment hazards, or other unsafe conditions.
Important: Weather delays do not automatically extend the contracted end time.

Health & Safety Policies

I do not paint over or immediately around:

  • Open wounds, cuts, or bleeding
  • Active skin infections
  • Significant rashes or visibly irritated skin
  • Cold sores or other visibly contagious conditions
  • Fresh stitches or healing surgical areas
  • Eyes that appear infected or severely irritated

I reserve the right to decline service when painting would create a health, hygiene, or safety concern.

For minor questionable areas, I offer an alternative such as painting the opposite cheek, arm, or hand when appropriate.

Allergies & Sensitive Skin

I cannot guarantee that my products will not cause a reaction.

Cosmetic products can cause sensitivity or allergic reactions in some individuals. Guests and guardians are responsible for informing me of known allergies or sensitivities before application. When appropriate, a small patch test may be offered, but a patch test cannot guarantee that a reaction will not occur.

For children, the parent or guardian ultimately decides whether they want the child painted.

Child Face Painting Policy

  • The minimum age for full face painting is 3 years old.
  • For younger children, I can offer a small arm or hand design only when they are comfortable and cooperative.
  • I will never restrain a child or continue painting a child who is crying, pulling away, repeatedly touching equipment, or clearly does not want to participate.
  • Children must remain supervised by their parent or guardian.

Guest Behavior Policy

I have the right to refuse or stop service because of:

  • Aggressive or threatening behavior
  • Sexual harassment
  • Intoxication that makes service unsafe
  • Deliberate damage to equipment
  • Repeated interference with my workspace
  • Refusal to follow reasonable safety instructions

Line Closing & Break Policies

Line closing

My contracted end time is the end of painting — not the time I close the line. The line will close 30 minutes before the contracted end time.

Breaks

Bookings exceeding 4 hours may include reasonable artist rest, hydration, meal, restroom, and equipment-maintenance breaks.

Photography Policy

Any photography of a child must be approved by a parent or guardian. Pictures may be used on social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, and on my website. For any secondary sites on which the child may subsequently appear, I am not responsible.
